Digital Radiography

Here at Fontenot Animal Hospital, we always have your pet’s best interest at heart. We make sure that we stay up to date on the latest techniques and treatments so that we can diagnose and treat your pet most accurately. A most effective tool, digital radiography enables our veterinarians to safely and quickly assess the status of injuries or diseases that may be affecting your pet.

A painless, non-invasive procedure, digital radiography captures images of the body’s internal organs and skeletal system using very low doses of radiation. These images can be manipulated, enhanced, and contrasted, allowing our veterinarians to properly diagnose a condition. We can also share the images with a specialist right away if necessary.

Typically, digital radiography can help with diagnosing fractures, locating foreign objects, detecting masses such as tumors, diagnosing pneumonia, discovering pregnancies, bladder stones, chronic arthritis, and certain spinal cord diseases.

The advantages of digital radiography over traditional x-rays includes quicker, enhanced image quality, less radiation exposure for your pets, fewer retakes, cost-effective, quick processing time, and quick sharing.

Across the board, digital radiography enables Fontenot Animal Hospital to provide better animal care because it gives us the tools to make more accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
